The client's fortuitous purchase of a ceiling extractor at a trade fair became the catalyst for a complete kitchen transformation, requiring both an extension and a new kitchen design – a challenge we were delighted to embrace.

The initial kitchen layout couldn't accommodate the client's prized extractor. Our design team worked closely with the client to create a spacious and functional galley kitchen, complete with a large island that serves as the heart of the space. This design not only perfectly houses the statement extractor but also creates a highly sociable and practical kitchen environment.

The Leicht kitchen furniture, finished in Tocco-A Arctic, provides a sleek and contemporary foundation. The clean lines and light colour palette enhance the sense of space and light within the kitchen. Siemens integrated appliances offer seamless functionality and a streamlined aesthetic, while the Quooker boiling water tap adds a touch of modern convenience. The granite worktops provide a durable and luxurious surface, perfectly complementing the overall design.

This project spotlights our commitment to a thorough design process, even amidst logistical challenges. Located in Saint Jean D'Angely and completed in September 2016, this U-shaped kitchen features a bespoke shaped Leicht laminate breakfast bar peninsula, designed to comfortably accommodate a family.

The design process involved a comprehensive exploration of various options, including the potential relocation of the kitchen to the former dining area. Ultimately, the decision was made to retain the kitchen in its original space, allowing us to focus on optimising the design layout and flow.

A key design element was the addition of a Leicht laminate breakfast bar, creating a sociable and functional space for family meals and gatherings. The Leicht worktop was also integrated into the main kitchen design, ensuring a cohesive and stylish finish.

This project also comes with an interesting story. Due to a rare clerical error, the Leicht kitchen units were delivered to France as planned, but the worktops were delivered to our location in the UK. Short-notice, locally sourced temporary worktops were installed whilst the Leicht worktops were enjoying their tour of Europe. Once they made it to France, they were finally swapped out with the temporary ones. These are truly the best-travelled worktops we know of!

Adding a personal touch to this installation, the images feature my family "helping" with the installation. While I wouldn't normally expect customers' children to assist, this installation was technically my summer holiday, blending work and family time.
